We have had some challenging days this week, Wyatt is a very active boy with an amazing love for life! He definitely knows how to try our patience but at the end of the day we can't help but adore him. This face says it all! I am so grateful that he is so forgiving of me, what an amazing thing the love of a child is!

Weston and the Stairs
I love to watch Weston go down the stairs. He can almost beat me when I am walking down!
Tuesday, March 24, 2009
Weston is busier than ever! He is into EVERYTHING! He loves spoons, and doing everything by himself, you should see him cruse down the stairs, backwards luckily! He always has a bruise somewhere, this week it is his cheek, as you can see the line in the pictures. He still isn't walking but army crawls like it's his business! He is such a joy and is always happy, what a love muffin!
We Are Knights, That's Right!
Wyatt loves being a knight! He puts his costume on first thing in the morning and then comes to wake me up. It is not an unusual sight to see puckered knight lips as soon as I open my eyes in the morning, as I am the princess about to be rescued! I think he would sleep in his costume if we let him. His favorite movie right now is Backyardigans: Tale of the Mighty Knights. On it they sing a song that says "We are Knights that's right!" Wyatt is always singing it, too cute. He thinks that "skills" are some sort of armor, hehehe. The song says "our knightly 'skills' are out of sight", I haven't told him what "skills"really are, it is too cute to see him describe them as he thinks they are. I just love my Knight in Shining Armor!

One of those weeks...
Do you ever have one of those weeks where:
the movie you put on for your kids ends entirely too fast and you are forced to put on another?
Or the weather is beautiful and then turns cold again just when you were loving getting outside after 5 months?
Or when your almost 1 year old gets a fever for 4 days for no apparent reason?
Or where your 3 year old, who is potty trained, takes a few HUGE steps backwards?
Or that same 3 year old decides to make pancakes while you are in the shower?
Or when your husband works seven days in a row, two of which were 30+hour shifts and you truly feel like a single mom?
Or when you pray for patience 900 times in a day and still lose it?
Or when you make sugar cookies 3 times and eat most of them yourself?
Well, I did! But I did get through it and am still standing! On a brighter note, I got a FABULOUS new camera and am so excited about it I could scream, or maybe I want to scream because of the week I have had. Anyway, here are some fun pictures from this week...many more to come from this great new camera!

Food Blog
I keep forgetting to put my food blog on here. I started it a about a month ago. I love cooking and baking and to be honest I wake up every morning thinking "what am I going to make today?" I am on a constant quest to find the best recipes I can. I truly believe that anyone can be great at cooking with the right recipes. So, I decided to share the recipes with all of you . I am loving it! Tharren is always laughing when I bring my camera to the dinner table but honestly, how do you know if you want to make something if you can't see what it looks like?! My hope is that this blog will keep me organized and give some fun food ideas to anyone who wishes to take a peek. Here is the link to Barefoot and Baking. Happy Baking!!

Where are you Spring?
How do you ever say no to these big brown eyes? Sometimes it is easier than you think! But oh, how they melt my heart!
Weston has wings! As his hair gets longer it curls at the ends. I love it! Weston has just discovered that there are things in the kitchen cupboards so he belines it straight there when ever he can, I am off to buy locks right now! Let the baby proofing begin!
There is not much else going on around here, time passes slowly at times and I can't help but think of the quote by President Monson,"If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly."
I try to keep this in mind as we are nearing the start of our 5th month of winter here and we are all feeling more than a little cabin fever. But life is good and my children are indeed my greatest blessing!

Potty Training a Knight
The whole process was totally easier than I thought it would be. Wyatt did so great and hasn't had an accident in a whole week, even at night. His knight costume was his reward for filling up two sticker charts from all his potty training success. Wyatt came into my room this morning dressed just like this, I said "look Weston there is a knight in our room!" To which Wyatt galantly took off his helmet and said "No mom, it's just me!" I love this boy!

Weston Being Crazy!
This is Weston's new thing. He gets all crazy and does this constantly! I think he is learning from his brother. Oh Heaven help me! But you have got to admit it is pretty cute!
We had a rare day that was actually above freezing! 33 degrees to be exact. So we just had to take advantage of the "beautiful" weather. We took our kids on a snow hike. We had a great time. Weston was a trooper and Wyatt was thrilled to be out looking for "Arctic Fox". His description, not ours. I am guessing it is because Wyatt's favorite TV show right now is Planet Earth, yes the documentary. He begs to watch an episode every night.

Tharren had a pretty easy rotation this month so he decided to build shelves in the unfinished part of our basement for food storage. They turned out AMAZING! Tharren is turning into quite the handy man. He loves to have a project to keep him busy. It must be because his mom instilled into him "Working children are happy children". This is so the case with Tharren! What can I say, I married into a wonderful family!

Weston Walking
Weston is learning all sorts of new tricks! We borrowed this little walker from a friend and Weston loves getting around on his own. He also learned to climb our stairs! Yikes, I can't believe my baby is almost not a baby any more!
Weston Waving
I know that this video is kinda dark but it is the only one I have been able to catch of his cute wave!
It's Freezing!
These past couple of weeks have been ridiculously cold. We have had temps all the way down to -25 with the wind chill and highs at 6 degrees. Add on the foot and a half of snow and I would say we live in a frozen tundra. Needless to say we are surviving but sometimes just barely. I can tell my boys are getting cabin fever bad, as am I! I am dreaming of Spring but know that we have a couple more months before it even begins to thaw around here.
